Taking the most valuable things from other people unwillingly whether it’s their life or their intimate space is both cruel and unforgivable.
Raping someone might destroy them physically and mentally but if you want AND can, you might be able to survive and overcome this trauma by pure willpower and determinations and ALOT of healing.
But taking their life won’t give them the chance to even try to survive and overcome their trauma or continue their life to achieve their life goals if they had any.
In my opinion both are cruel but murder is a little bit more cruel since you stole EVEN their chance to survive after destroying them.
People’s potential life and dreams matters. It’s literally all they have and it hurts seeing people treating it as insignificant or worthless unless they find interest in it. It’s really cruel.
So yeah the scale is even morally.

They wouldn't have trauma if they were just murdered, I think murder is more merciful bc your killing them as they are. A rapist traumatizes you and makes you live in fear and struggle to be the person you were before you were raped, often making you want death. I view murder is a quick death, and rape as torture/slow death. Would you rather die quick, or be tortured everyday wishing you chose death. That's how I look at it.

hard agree. the inherent dehumanization of rape is nowhere near the scale of murder imo. liking fictional killers (ie hannibal) is perfectly normal. but a fictional rapist? never. no matter how you look at it they're on different levels
