okay so, the scene with the emperor's night visit to make her feel better was cute, but...
it just kind feels out of place? they're relationship isn't at the stage yet where he just pops in to visit her whenever, so him just showing up like that and taking her out on a kinda romantic night date (albeit a brief one) just to cheer her up is kind of out of place.
i do appreciate it as it was very sweet and I'm happy she was able to feel better, but it was just kind of sudden. I'm not trying to be a downer or say it shouldn't have happened or anything, just expressing my opinion.
a world where "everyone" can be happy doesn't exist hun. there will always be someone somewhere that is unhappy.
so here's my solution:
just make everyone in the world "unhappy" then by default everyone in the world will also be "happy" because - just like with light and dark - one cannot exist without the other! easy solution.
they had such a tragic love story, Romeo and Juliet ain't got nothing on that!
i can't even fault the guy - i mean he's prob right that she'd have insisted on staying by his side the whole time, but then what?!
they would have struggled, they would have been miserable, there's no guarantee they'd stay together through all that. it might just be better for the memories to stay pure and happy.
my only issue is that he should have let her know, either by letter or something about what he was going through and why he decided it was best for him to leave. i understand not telling her directly - because she's have insisted and he'd prob be persuaded.
but i do feel he should have left a letter about what his health issues were, why he chose to leave, and tell her how much he loves her and all that. at least then she might have had some closure and she could have let her son know instead of him hating his father the whole time.
