Also, it is more than simply translating.....for example, when speaking Japanese, one word can say or mean so much depending on the circumstances and who you are speaking to.
Unless you know the really fine and beautiful spiderweb of the Japanese language, social structure, and the dialects of different prefectures, TRUST, there could be a ton of things lost in translation.
I am using Japanese as an example because I can speak, read, and comprehend more than I ever imagined after studying almost DAILY for the last two years.
I am now entering what I like to call “Kanji Land” and have set a goal of learning 3,000+ Kanji in the five years. It’s fun but it is challenging. At this point, I would not even attempt to translate a manga because I am just a baby who is crawling up the steps of the Japanese language.
