it's less that he was thrown 8 years in the future and more like he was trapped for 8 years inside the gate it also had seemed to keep him from aging while he was inside the gate so he definitely had dark color hair before he entered the gate so did something happen in the gate that caused this ???
His natural hair is white, he died it black to help hide his identity, and also put contacts in that change his eye color.
