They haven't seen each other at all after finally confessing and making love and he has no idea that Etienne's severe illness was caused by some mystery substance his mom gave him
Well he needs to learn some self discipline, he only asked a quick question about Etiennes condition and wasn’t even focusing on why he came to the archives in the first place. Rishar is fully aware that he is in the empresses grasp right now but fails to be catious or weary. This whole plan to overthrow that witch was so that he would be able to free Etienne but if he keeps acting out he will be the very catalyst that will incarcerate him.

No, you're absolutely right, I'm not saying people are wrong in being upset or stressed about his actions I'm just saying that love makes you irrational and they haven't had time to even adjust, he's just acting exactly as a guy stupid in love and it's making him forget the situation

I understand what you’re saying but when Etienne was in the annex palace, Rishar was with him the whole time and he still acted this way. He is too attached and subconsciously lets his emotions sway him rather than focusing on the matters at hand. If the author thought it was cute to write and portray him this way, it really isn’t. It’s annoying and he needs to grasp what situations he is in and what circumstances he is under.
I know it's just fiction but genuinely hoping y'all don't view irl people/relationships with trauma like this one is deeply traumatized and upfront about it and the other has never had to navigate something like that before but they're trying their best and it feels realistic
Was it actually objectively great? No. But it was fun and entertaining and cute!! I still liked it a lot and will rate it high bc not everything neeeds to be a masterpiece
