I'm like halfway the chapters and Ngl, this Taeju is such a dumbass. He got fucking hard on getting strangled by Euihyun! Fucking dumbass

Yeah ur right it is hilarious , tbh I wouldn't put it past tarju to get turned on in that situation he been a freak. But tbh ig the car scene was js too intense to actually include something like him getting turned on after basically RAPING Euihyun after he was working to figure out their relationship and get it to be better

Yo doesn't that sound mess up to be taking little girls away in garden of Eden to grow up to be concubine for humanity's future?

Right? It's a very philosophical question. In the book, there's a passage that says that humans fight to remain pure and not become xenogeneic, but it's a war they've already lost, since the world has become something they can no longer survive in on their own, not a world for them. What's stopping them is their pride in losing what they once were and the world they lived in. In the process, they've lost their values and their ethics towards themselves.

Well, ig it's just philosophies people follow, like optimism for a hopeful future where they can let the future generation survive through their efforts and in doing so keep themselves alive too through their sacrifice. I don't really think people here are thinking of capitalism or such. And as the other comment stated, pride in being a superior form of living and to keep the humanity alive for said pride.
Also while death in theory does sound peaceful, irl, most people fear the unknown, just knowing there's nothing after death is scary, there are so many dreams and regrets left unfulfilled and the fact that there could be a chance for a future is a hope that makes people fear death even more, the fear of missing an opportunity to experience more. Even in this story, there are developments that has saved humanity till the current point so i wouldn't say they have lost hope, so as long as the small ray of hope is alive, death isn't their choice.

Like i said, philosophy, what you're thinking is probably nihilism but not everyone has the same thoughts. Some people genuinely have strong will to live and hopes for future, in this case a hope to create a safe society for humans.
And yes, they are using girls very unethically and i do not support it or even am happy with it, but you also gotta remember that even a slight risk of infection gets a person killed so its pretty much that everyone is not treated morally correctly in this situation.
Also you gotta remember that this isn't a normal situation, this is like a apocalyptic society so they will have to go to severe lengths that isn't really humane.

Furthermore, if we think about it, comparing it to our reality, there are "human farms" where women are excluded from any civility and forced to give birth to babies that people pay for. We always think that if we are good and fair people, everyone will be equal, but women's bodies are always controlled by the government. Simone de Beauvoir once said: “Never forget that it only takes one political, economic or religious crisis for women's rights to be put in jeopardy.'' With this as a basis for analysis, those in power would do anything to stay alive, using tactics to control the population, such as religious beliefs for example, it is a very well structured plan to keep the ''workforce'' where it benefits them, so the idea of ending one's own life makes no sense, since the social space in which they are inserted views acts of ending human life as a sin. So if the entire population is seen as disposable, children's bodies are expensive products for them. It's a sad reality to them.
Taena genuinely enjoys getting beaten up by Euihyun he does. Bro everytime he opens his mouth, even in out of good reason, he finds a way to tick Euihyun off and gets beaten up.
