She was the key to releasing Jae-Jin from that monster. I kinda figured it would go this way, but, it took soooooo long to happen that the original story got blown out of proportion. Maybe the end is near and it will resolve itself with Jae-Jin and Min-Ji going back to the way they were before this all began.
