wish desir just told zod the truth... why is there a need to keep it a secret? (i just hate secrets don’t mind me oasjaksjsk)

I think it is more about disrupting the time line. Its one thing that Desir knows what is coming but there is no telling what wil happen when more people come to know. In man stories time is very fragile and has to be handled carefully. I think that is what Desir is doing. Just to be sure that there is a minimal damage to the time line he knows, a minimum of changes. I do not like secrets eather but in this case I can understand. I m happy that Zod can read into the situation and trust his instincts rather than make a big deal out of it lol.

It's essentially this yeah. The attack with the outers summoning that demon was supposed to happen two years later for example. Maybe he would tell Zod if he asked before all this happened, but the timeline is already too different from the one he remembers. Even if the attack was two years early tho, it still happened pretty much the same as he remembered so he used that to his advantage. Telling Zod could drastically change things because then another person would know of future events or at least knew Desir knew. Too many variables would be introduced to the equation to predict what would happen next.

There's a difference between predictable change and completely unpredictable change.
Remember the attack on the magic tower way back when? That was an event Desir could change. He stopped it for the better because in his timeline, they stole a powerful item that would be needed in the future fight. If he had changed things too much before then, that event may not have happened or it may have happened at a different time, causing his team to not be there to stop it.
This also happened with the battle just now as it was supposed to happen 2 years in the future where he and his team would have been much stronger. Because of Desir's actions changing things a little too much, that sped up their plans to commit genocide because they were weary of their enemies' successes against him.
Now say Desir told Zod, a man he wasn't even supposed to have met yet, that he knew the future. Not even the events, because that would change wayyyy too much, just that he knew the future. Zod would start treating him differently which would change events even further. Desir's advantage is in knowing the future but if the future changes, he won't know it anymore and will lose that advantage. Without the advantage, it's nearly the same as going in blind like he did in his first life. His best bet is to strike a careful balance between changing things that absolutely must not happen and leaving things the same just enough so that the future doesn't become unpredictable.
OH MY GOD ARE WE GOING TO GET SMUT???????????????????
