Since a lot of people seem curious about the romance in this series, here’s a quick rundown, hope it helps people decide if they want to continue:
The MC doesn’t appear to have genuine romantic feelings for any of the characters. Any attachment he shows is usually tied to how useful someone is to him, or how likely they are to be manipulated and follow his lead.
There are a few characters he completely blindsides and manipulates, and many others who are fully aware but either don’t care or find him compelling enough to overlook it.
A few hundred chapters into the novel, there’s a scene implying r*pe while the MC is LEGITIMATELY unconscious and recovering from an injury. It involves several members of his “harem.” I'm not sure what happens after bc I dropped it so fast.
That said, the adaptation seems to be changing aspects of the MC’s personality notably, having him keep Deokgoo around because of his moral compass(lmao br maybe it's guilt), rather than seeing through the trap earlier so I doubt they’ll include that scene.
Also, can someone fill me in on the extras where he supposedly gets involved with the general strategist? I thought that guy was dead, is it an alternate timeline or what?
I'm really glad the novel's getting an adaptation!
...but I feel like the pacing is rushed making the key events feel less emotionally impactful. I get that in adaptations, nuances and thought are naturally omitted in favour of coherence and such, but it's still a bit sad to see. It's always nice to see the artist add in little snippets of the novel in the background though. I hope anyone who enjoys this also checks out the novel at:

they have great translations
I also highly recommend checking the novel for a deeper and more immersive read!
However... I can't deny that lately I've been liking when the adaptation is faster paced even if we loose a bit of the things in the novel... because 1, that incentivates people to go read the novel and 2, the comic doesn't take as long to be finished.
I love to keep reading about my favorite characters... but I've been feeling tired of taking years to finish reading a story... there's only 52 weeks in a year... and with holidays, breaks and such... a comic never takes less than a year and half to finish... and that's ok cuz authors ain't machines... it's just... sometimes a fast read is also good... which is why I tend to go for the novels... they are faster to read... so after finishing it I enjoy the comic more...
So again... people... keep reading the comic but go read the novel too!
I'm going to have a heart attack young at the rate this story makes me feel. Mori's so adorable I don't even feel cute aggression, the interactions in this story are so adorable it over-rides any other emotions. I, to an unfathomable degree adore the author's storytelling, art and characters tie in together. The fight scenes were INCREDIBLE which hit me in the back of the head, when I saw how well they drew backgrounds and their soft art style early on I was not expecting such dynamic shots. Also the rendered close up shots in ch5 restructured by brain on a fundamental level for sure(you know??) I was so SO worried it was a short story when I saw 13 chapters and they were approaching the city so fast (chapter-wise) but I'm so glad there seems to be more to look forward to.

Our MC's dark history he takes 100 chapters to live down
