Spoiler warning for raw chapter 57;
So Jungwoo (big bro) took Taeyoung (mc) as prisoner , exchange for the pad.
Minjae (ml) chose Taeyoung over revenge so he sent the pad to Jungwoo.
The person that brings the pad is Hyuk, the second bro. We dont know how much he knows but he seems very distant towards Jungwoo so those twos relationship seems broken at the moment.
Meanwhile, Jungwoo released Taeyoung, he threatened him, telling him to be stranger to Minjae, before he left.
Of course, Taeyoung didnt listen and went to search for Minjae.
And since his revenge failed, Minjae seems very suicidal. He gave his wallet to random kid and bought himself a knife.
...
Thats what we got this week. I would like to say, though i understand why Minjae go against Jungwoo, i Wonder until when Jungwoo is gonna be treated as villain, instead of real villain (president). I mean Taeyoung will save Minjae and Hyuk right now help them to expose the abuse but Jungwoo is also victim too so i hope this gets well adressed too.
I also read the raws and I was thinking:
(Spoiler!!)
Maybe Minjae buying a knife could be because he wants to first kill the president and THEN himself. I mean, not that I'm particularly an expert in suicide methods (lmao) but isn't buying a knife only to kill yourself a bit unnecessarily complicated? I interpreted it more as a murder weapon to personally take his revenge (even though the old fucker is dying anyway).
And I also feel like they're treating Jungwoo too much like the true villain, but him being an absolute asshole to Minjae isn't helping my opinion of him (the RAGE I felt when he again told Taeyong to stay away from Minjae. For God's sake he's a victim just like you, and it's not like him not being close to Taeyong is gonna change anything with him revealing the truth about you, STOP ANTAGONIZING HIM!!!
If none of the brother show at least A TINY BIT of regret on how they've been treating Minjae I'm gonna riot (they had their reasons, but I'm still pissed)
I dont know. You might be right about knife stuff. But Jungwoo part is weird to me. Even if he threatened Taeyoung, he knows he wouldnt listen so i think he wasnt really serious about it. And besides the "dont reveal the abuse", Jungwoo didnt treat Minjae badly. He also helped him to get out of the house. The only reason he cares Hyuk more is because they basically grow together. He didnt treat Minjae as lesser, unlike Hyuk who used a man to beat Minjae. And i understand why Jungwoo wants to cover abuse because he needs to dissaciate from his trauma too. I just dont understand why Hyuk looked distant, as if he is disgusted, he didnt let him touch. All he learnt was that Jungwoos mother sold im to president and he is adopted too. Every new information we got, we learn further about how much victim he is. I keep expect them to fight against president but they dont for some reason. I understand Minjae's anger towards Jungwoo, but others anger? No. Taeyoung shouls also have some empathy for Jungwoo. He doesnt seem to care much and especially Hyuk, the person Jungwoo tried to protect from the truth, treats him as "unpure " to a "sexual abuse victim"....horrible. Imagine how Jungwoo felt at that moment. Its so sad. I hope they all get conclusion and happy ending at the end. Ooooof, waiting is hard.
That doesnt makes sense for several reasons. First, even Minjae himself wasnt angry towards Jungwoo because he immediately understood that Jungwoo was seeing himself and frozen at that moment. He is mad at him for "covering up the abuse" but even deep down, he understands Jungwoo and thats why it makes him wanna kill himself. This is how Minjae feels.
Jungwoo literally explained the reason why they cant tell police and reporters and he has weak body. Even if he wanted to, he wouldnt psychocally save Minjae st that moment. Not to mention, he is long term victim so he is used to this.
Besides all this, i dont get Junghyuk. This guy literally treated Minjae as less for being step brother. Jungwoo also took care of him and protected him for years. How can Hyuk hate him or mad at him? When his "so precious brother" turn out to be "sold by his mother to president.", "abused and r*ped by him for years", "hide everything to protect HIM"?! I could understand Minjaes reaction because he is victim as well so its normal for them to have complicated feelings. But outsiders? No. He is so pitiful that it is upsetting as hell seeing him smile to cope his trauma.
Just bc minjae has accepted it doesn’t mean everyone else would see it the same way. Obviously it’s ultimately the father’s fault but i don’t think Jungwoo is perfectly blameless in this situation. Yes he did it to protect Hyuk but Hyuk never even got a say in whether he wanted to be protected at Minjae’s expense. It was also pretty clear to me that Hyuk was starting to warm up to Minjae before the vase incident, so now he has to deal with the guilt of turning his back on a victim of his father and brother’s making. Not to mention he’s probably now wrestling with his pseudo-inc*tuous feelings towards jungwoo
Jungwoo didnt sacrifice Minjae to protect Hyuk or something. Jungwoo was getting too old and president simply find a new victim. This isnt Jungwoos fault. Also, even lets say; somehow, Jungwoo chose him to protect Hyuk. Literally anyone would do the same. Who would you choose to sacrifice? Your baby brother? Or a stranger? Most people would choose their loved ones over strangers. And like i mentioned, Jungwoo didnt somehow choose Minjae for president to r*pe. There is literally no evidence that he did. And it doesnt makes sense because Jungwoo helped Minjae to get out of this house by injuring himself.
If he planned Minjae to play "presidents plaything", why would he help him to be saved? Jungwoo is messed up, yes. He isnt right to threathen people to cover abuse, yes but literally, anything other than this, it isnt his fault.
So basically it isnt fair Hyuk of all people to sat anything to him. Jungwoo is raising Hyuk since he was baby, like his own child. What 8 years old Jungwo shouldve tell him? "Hey baby brother. How is school? Btw, i was r*ped by father today again. Lets call the police, my 4 years old brother" or 15 years old Jungwoo be like "hey brother. How is middle school. Well, i am being assaulted by our father since i was a kid, lets call the police-" or 34 years old Jungwoo "Bro, years ago, i was abused by our father. We are not actually related. My real mother sold me. I just wanted you to know--"
etc etc.
You see? How could he tell his baby brother this? When? Its been years so its easier for him to bury the truth. So no, Hyuk or any outsider has no right to judge him about this.
I misremembered jungwoo encouraging the adoption but he forbade minjae from getting real help and gave him no warning even though he knew what would happen. He also allowed hyuk to continue misunderstanding just because he wanted to keep hyuk and minjae apart. He could have gotten minjae out before the chairman r*ped him, but he waited until after when it was clear that minjae didn’t want to keep his mouth shut and put up with it. And again, he allowed hyuk to misunderstand and hate minjae just because he wanted to keep hyuk to himself.
Yes but he was right and years later, Minjae also realized. As adopted children, they couldnt go against powerfull rich abuser. It could make things worse so once again, this isnt Jungwoo's fault.
And once again about the part he "let president abuse minjae"; Jungwoo is long term-victim. He is being abused since he was like 8. He is been r*ped by presidents for 10 years. All those years, he endured everything alone. He stayed silent. He knew he couldnt ask anyone from help. This is called conditioned desperation. He has no hope of things getting better. For him, "the abuse" didnt happen. For him, "the abuser" is justified. For him, it was all "bad dream" so of course, he was hesitant how to deal with Minjae suffering the same fate. And he tried to "comfort him" in his own way. By hugging. And telling him to forget because thats how Jungwoo cope. I think Jungwoo looked for a way where he can protect them all in his way. He protected Hyuk by covering the truth. He protected Minjae by sending him from the house. He protected himself by seeing things as "bad dreams".
Also yes, he allowed Hyuk to misunderstand and all but thats on Hyuk too. Hyuk was already hard on Minjae and thats on him. And would Jungwoos plan even worked, if Minjae didnt hit him? It was supposed to be big scene enough for president to send Minjae off to abroads. Also this is a theory but i think Jungwoo is kinda suicidal and self destructive. He feels shame for being victim and i think he also feels guilty for not helping Minjae. Thats why i think he chose a way to hurt himself.
FINALLY SOMEONE SAYS IT ALL. I REALLY AGREE WITH YOU. i don't understand why everyone keep painting him as the main villain when he literally the long term victim. And mind you its started since HE WAS A KID. Fine he has some flaw here and there but yall can't expect s1 who being abused for years to be the same as average person. The real villain is that old man.
Yeah, i just cant ever judge him. Victims like Jungwoo is unfamiliar to most people, i think. He is not your perfect victim who cries or ask for help, he is not an angry victim who wants justice. He just dissociate from everything. Especially being a "long term victim" and its effects....This is why i want them to get conclusion T_T. They both deserve it.
