I did feel weird bout that chapter and I agree it felt pick me all around, but ultimately he’s not her man, she likes him and she hasn’t directly expressed that she likes him to him so if he falls for someone else or she misses her shot that’s on her, and mc wasn’t going after him in the first place, if he ends up liking her when she didn’t intend to flirt with him then that’s on him, but the “popular girl” wasn’t being a girls girl herself so… you can’t really help out or be girls girls to people like that even if you want to because as far as they’re concerned every other girl is just their competition so I don’t think she could’ve done anything to support her that wouldn’t have been seen as a threat to her. It’s sort of like my friend likes someone but if she’s gonna sit on her ass and do nothing about it she can’t be upset when that person goes and sees other people or sees other people around her as potential love interests instead of her because why? She’s not doing shit to make HERSELF a potential love interest to that person, regardless of hints or flirting you know? People flirt all the time and a lot of the time that amounts to nothing if you don’t put in the work of trying for a romantic relationship with someone. If you want someone then put in the work, don’t expect people to just fall into your lap when YOURE the one that likes them not the other way around. That’s just my two cents anyway, my friends are always like this “oh I have a crush on so and so but they’re seeing people…” ok and? Are they single? Are they just dating around? If they are then establish yourself as someone they want to see then, make it clear you’re interested and maybe you’ll be an option to them, ultimately ur the one with the crush so do the work to get the person you like, like the world doesn’t revolve around you. Just as you have people interested in you that your seeing or want to see so do other people and if you want someone then put in the effort or tell them directly like we’re too old to be acting like kids and expecting things to come to us, and this is honestly a big problem with women bc a lot of the time women don’t chase they’re used to just attracting so when they’re put in a situation where they have to do the chasing they just don’t and then get upset when it amounts to nothing and they don’t pull the person they wanted. It’s always “I don’t want to ask them out, I want them to ask me out” but ur the one who likes them??? Why should they ask u out? Like come on folks

Taku was worse than Joowon in many ways lol.
Joowon genuinely loved haesoo and sacrificed a ton for him just to be happy, even wanting to support him when he was with another guy after haesoo manipulated and said a bunch of hurtful shit to him. And had the most solid character development too. Meanwhile taku was like this:

emm, I think you're forgetting Joowon's actions at the beginning of this drama. I'd tag the chapters but its a lot of effort. Haesoo hasn't been perfect through this though but Joowon was just as bad imo. My heart just broke for taku in this chap

Joowon’s actions at the beginning were driven by Haesoo’s manipulative tendencies to purposely make him jealous and angry and possessive. He was immature but he developed for the better and honestly I cant say the same for Taku (taku did develop, but not in the best ways). Also Haesoo’s narration was frankly unreliable because he was stuck on villainizing Joowon, when Joowon did genuinely love him but made some mistakes by doing what he thought would protect their relationship. He was also easy to sympathize with as he had abandonment issues from Haesoo leaving him after the divorce which pushed his actions.

The difference between Joowon and Taku boils down to their intent and motivations, and development over the course of the story. Thats why Taku is worse lol.

thats what i thought at first; especially ever since joowon stans became more populated and they started building a more sturdy reasoning. but unless you've been in the fandom since the start or if you're a regular in tiktok, you won't know that taku stans are the most immature, batshit crazy, petty, simp-addicting people out there. i'm done playing fair just to have "peace" in the fandom. if its a war they want its a war theyll get.

taku stans dont get to spit shit about joowon, especially when joowon stans dont even start shit about taku themselves. theyre always provoked. the fact that taku stans even went to the point of throwing death threats at the author just makes yall sink to the bottom of human decency. "rudeness and simple lack of respect" girl, you havent scratched the surface

Girl I agree with you so much. I love all the characters in their own way but I personally feel like Taku was the way to go. His character was sooo honest and realistic. My mind is drifting to the conversation they had then they first had sex. He was an asshole and did play games at times but I found him to be a much better person than Joowon.

But ofc we didn't write the story but I really wish for him to have a happy ending (even if the author doesn't end up drawing it out for us)
