The reason why being an alpha keeps being brought up is because at the beginning it's explained that for this story, the boys mainly manifested as alphas and the girls manifested as omegas. It was rare for it to be the opposite. That's why MC and ML kept talking about manifesting as alphas because of how common boys manifested as alphas.
