Nah but there’re so many countries that are traditionally very religious and conservative, therefore aren’t open minded and allow/accept/like people within the lgbtq+ community, predominantly in Asia, so this is actually a really good representation of a homophobic family and a gay person (basically in denial?? Due to that having been what he was taught/told growing up?). Honestly, I actually do feel like this plot is more realistic since, let’s be so real, not all families are so open or accepting of their child being gay or coming out all of a sudden (as depicted in A LOT of manhwas).
