So i re read this manga again after months bcs my new neighbor, happened to have the same situation as yuuichi. My neighbor, he is only 27 yet he decided to take care of his sister son. Living in a full of judgmental neighborhoods, of course lots of people (and mothers) are judging him at how he should doing this and that. fyi, the son is just 8 years old and he reaaaally resembles the kid in this manga. He didn't talk much but i can see he loves and adores his uncle who raised him. one day, there's this big rainstorm in my area so the kids were forced to go home. but the uncle is not yet home bcs of work. My house happened to be beside theirs so my mom took the initiative to invite the kid inside. My mom, was being a noisy that time, she just ranting to this kid abt his uncle. like how his uncle was supposed to get him home, or made him proper food. And i feel pity for the kid bcs i couldn't said anything, bcs in some point, i was agreed with my mom that time.
What i didn't expect is, the kid suddenly crying and told my mom to stop. He said that he knew his uncle were trying hard for him, that no one knows how hard his uncle trying. not even us, and he said we have no rights to talk bad about his uncle. that was the moment were my mom was so shocked and told the kid that she is so sorry. That she didn't mean to said anything bad about his uncle. I was at fault too bcs i didn't even stop my mom from talking.
So my mom hugged the kid and saying sorry multiple times, and half and hour later, his uncle picked him up. My mom keep saying that she is sorry that she talked bad about him in front of the kid. but the young uncle just smile and said, it's okay. it's not the first time that he heard that. He already knew all the consequences he'll get when he decided to adopt his sister son.
And that left me so speechless. I mean, he is young, have a good job, but he ready to take such a big turn in his life. I still remember how his house almost got burned when he trying to cook. But he keep trying hard for his "son".
Now it's almost their third months living together, i wish this young uncle will meet someone who could understand and help him but also will love the kid, because both of them deserve happiness (づ ㅠ ³ ㅠ)づ ♡
