I thought it would have been actually kinda nice if both of them had amnesia and don't remember each other and fall in love again since after all MC was in a 2 year coma so there should be some memories erased as medically, your brain is literally affected. I kinda know some of this cus i went thru a coma myself 2 times and I also lost some memories in the process and it's called localized retrograde amnesia or partial retrograde amnesia. Usually caused by brain-related accidents where your memory-related areas like the hippocampus is affected. Some can gain their memories back but also not.
