Basically she used to be good knight but then the emperor got irritated or like doesn't like her or something that's why her skills and magic power was like taken away from her or like lock up somewhere. Because of that the people that used to respect her is now making fun of her and so on that's why she left the empire and live in a rural area. But then the gate is now open so that emperor need a bait or like someone who is useless to him to be a diplomat if I'm not mistaken. But then the emperor of the other side of the barrier likes her because she said him. So he was mad when he found out that the MC couldn't use her skills and magic now so he is giving her an opportunity to like get back her original skills and magic by learning from him or something... That what I've understood so far. Reading so many manhwas gave me this kind of skill where I can tell/understand any panel if it has a good amount of context
