I think you have to be in the right mood or headspace to enjoy this story. It’s a little sad and a little lonely, but there’s a bright side. Every cloud has a silver lining, and this story has a happy ending.
I read it all in one go and really liked it. You may cry, but if you are up for it, give it a go.

I just watched the Anime, and I’ve had this in my Want To Read section for awhile, but I’m just wondering, you guys, how much will this story break me? Because the anime freaking messed with my emotions, and I’m not trying to get too fucked up. Is this like fruits basket level emotional trauma or full metal alchemist level?

I like this because it’s kind of a truer depiction of a Cinderella story. Subjugated classes have always struggled with the whims of the elite. The fantasy of a rich savior is just that. Plus, the art is so beautiful. It’s such a nice contrast with the dark content. I’ve never come across a story like this, and I’m really attracted to historical depictions of “romance”.
I’m someone that avoids stories that will hurt me, but I’m still hooked, even knowing that this story can probably only have a sad ending, there’s still a deep curiosity and some hope I suppose.
Seungho’s tired face though. It cracks me up.
