Honestly, since this is a bl from the MC's perspective, we understand his trauma and empathize with Taegun. But irl, if someone keeps dilly dallying with a kind and loving person like Seo Eunsang, we'd be telling him to move on. It's kind of cruel on the ML, even when we know what the MC is going through.
I swear i swear i swear i thought her mom was a omega guy
Nah this one is confusing me too. Usually even the dominant female alphas that like presenting themselves as more “masculine” still look like a woman, just one who’s masculine. The mom here doesn’t give that vibe at all. Honestly it kind of feels like it’s the artist or translators first omegaverse lol
It actually isn't which is why I'm so confused because I've read probbaly near 100 omegaverse with all different troupes but I've never seen such a manly looking dominant alpha female who impregnated the dominant alpha male. So I was just confused as to why she would do the impregnating in this situation but I see it was just a choice the author had made ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭
She’s definitely drawn to look 100% like a man. There is zero outward traces of anything resembling a woman so I think the confusion for some people makes sense. Not even a slight bit of anything “female” to denote that the mother vibes with being a woman. So people could have easily assumed she’s the mother because she gave birth, not the father, and was probably a badass male omega who takes no shit (though probably should with how terribly they treat their kid, jfc).
Usually alpha females or just more masc presenting females in omegaverse are drawn with the teeniest tiniest bit of underlying “feminine” facial structure. Like that one cousin, I think it was, of Taeju’s in Low Tide at Twilight or the omega MC’s mother in Unromantic. And then when it’s a male omega as the mother we usually get he/him pronouns while also being called mother. Or “father” for an alpha female who wasn’t the one that gave birth. So basically someone is subverting all of the usual omegaverse expectations here. Idk if it’s the writer and the (no idea if this is from a novel and there are character descriptions) artist is just following them, or if it’s artist themselves. But someone for sure is.
Anyway. All of that is to say that there’s nothing wrong with any of it, just explaining what I see as why people (myself included) were confused for a hot second. Because even though omegaverse does kind of push around gender expectations, it actually only does so within our own irl gender role expectations.
Like the biggest omegaverse gender bullshit nitpick I have is when fanfic writers decide all omegas have pussies. Why? This feels like hetero with extra steps. Because on the one hand you have the ones that are born whatever way but then magically grow the assigned second gender organs at second presentation, and no one ever takes into account how all that works so you get odd amalgamations where someone has a clit and a penis despite them being the same tissues pre sex development. My suspension of disbelief is always broken with those ones lol. And on the other hand you have the one I hate more, the ones where they’re just born with the pussy but yet someone everyone is like “oh boy! I wonder what secondary gender this person will be?!” It’s no longer a surprise then?? All of the birth givers are just assigned baby makers at birth then. So again just hetero with extra steps that feels like it completely loses the point and interesting stuff about omegaverse :/
I spend way too much time thinking about the social and world building aspect of omegaverse if any one was still unsure
I think the main (and maybe even unconscious) point of having female characters have SOMETHING “feminine” about them, whether it’s how they like to present themselves with their clothes and what not or just underlying bone structure, so readers can mostly tell is because if there wasn’t something that separated male and female (which is already a more vague concept in omegaverse) then what would be the point. If anyone can look like anything and give birth or inseminate, like there’s no defining outwardly physical features to signify which is which on sight of someone’s face or clothing choices or something to set one gender apart from another, then why have the male/female genders? Just go straight Alphas impregnate, Omegas give birth, Betas are sterile. But then we have to make up new pronouns, which is hard and icky to read simply because most language have pronouns as a “closed class” meaning you can’t introduce new ones (unlike verbs where fucking anything can become a new very is you use it right). So writing would be weird and difficult. Not to mention figuring out how the inner social aspect of world building functions. But also then having to somehow drastically avoid making the story sound like “the dudes fuck on top and I’m pregnant the baby maker women on the bottom” because WITHOUT our irl understanding of our genders to give us that gender role subversion, that’s what omegaverse would end up like. I mean we already see that sometimes with some of the “all omegas have pussies” fics. So it’s hard, we need the “weird” and “taboo” aspects of omegaverse for it all to work better, and also most of us are just here to fuck and don’t WANT to have to get that deep into the world building when we’re trying to write fics and comics lmfao

Now does everyone see why Chase is the best person to come out of that family? He's also the prettiest of them all heh. He could be bad mannered but atleast he's not a psycho and he's got the beautiful lips to make up for the rude words they speak lmao
