Because it was never about being gay, it was the fact they fault their dad ruined their family by leaving their mother. They were children when it happened and were basically left in the dark. I’m pretty sure you would hate the parent the caused the divorce and their partner as well as a child. Their dad wasn’t much help by not siting down and talking it over with them either but chose to ignore a situation that affected his kids too, which caused their hate for him to grow.
