guy was abusing his partner then finally let him go and broke up after realizing he was a terrible person did not believe he could be loved. he does get a second chance at love when another guy falls in love with him but guy still believes he does not deserve love. I think the first couple were together since high school and the abuse that he cause his lover was like burning him with cigs butts and beating him.
