Well its better than most endings we get in those story. Maybe in the future, after being together for so long, they became more secure and with therapy, they might be better. Maybe. Lol.

potn wasn't "better" than this. Both of the ML's are rapist. And a sad backstory doesn't excuse that.
What makes potn better than this one is the redemtion arc of ML, not some sad backstory. There are no redemtion, no regret nor compensate for anything here.

this manhwa isn't even half way over. and just because the author of potn gave seungho a an alleged redemption arc in the last few chapters doesn't make him or the story any better.
I think by better they meant the chance of a better ending. At the rate this is going it's bound to be a tragedy
I'm sorry honey but yes it does. I'm not saying potn is a super good story or Seungho is a good man, I'm with you here. But if we are comparing these two webtoons, there is a big difference between them. You may want to see this one's ending before judging but I personally think that I saw what I need to judge.

So far story has a way better plot than POTN's "Paint me fucking people or die. No, I want to fuck you now. Let me or die. We're codependent now. My father is threatening to kill you. It'll take a few months for me to undo every bad thing I've done and suddenly become a civil servant."
There's still a lot to come for this manhwa though. I do hope it doesn't go downhill.
agree with u so much on this. but i THINK like uhhh this is a 3 act story as the author said in the note - apparantly end of act 2 and act 3 will be the seme regretting (or as the author said "no 'regret' wouldnt even begin to cover it, he will want to gouge his heart out and eat it in penitence") his brutalities and then the last part will be the peak of their relationship - it might have a good ending idrk

The problem is that fans think rape and physical abuse can be redeemed. There was no redemption arc bcuz nothing he did could be redeemed. People simply chose to forgive him bcuz now the ML has blush stains on his cheeks whenever he fucks the MC.

As illegal manga reader myself it is clear what i do is wrong i aint trying to be holier than thou when what i did is also as wrong as stealing from people. It took years to learn to draw and also get published ..
not saying poor people shoudl enjoy entertainment but the way we enjoy it is not morally correct itself.. i dont support the author way in handling this problem. But speaking as fellow artist it just sad people think so lightly in our work (no matter how shitty it is)
as an artist that draws for a living (i have an art degree as well i swear) piracy is one of the things that you cannot fight as an artist, not only does it serve as a way of maintaining it it also helps popularize it, lots of readers read from here then make purchases later
authors gain international recognition thanks to piracy because any other way we wouldn’t have access to their works
and finally we’re talkin about a successful artist that’s already making good bank if anything the illegal uploads just help popularize her work and win her more money but her very classist comments (which is even more tone deaf considering the matter of her work) will now lose them lots of purchasers
She has already said she doesn't want to become famous through illegal piracy, so it doesn't matter what "popularity" illegal readers are giving her because she doesn't want it from a illegal source. And popularity doesn't = sales, there are works out there that are "popular" but still discontinued due to low sales volume. And there are plenty non-translated works that are massively popular in their original language without the "help" of illegal translation. There's no need to try and glorify piracy lol we want to read it for free and that's it lol. Piracy is for ourselves, for our own benefit, not for the author's sake.

But, There is no reliable evidence that piracy gives net benefit. In fact there are some studiest that shows most pirated content doesnt convert to sales. (Ex.EUIPO 2019) It may gives some artist exposures. But most of the time free access satisfy demand without compensation..
What you say is just assumption that every illegal users would pay after seeing the content here... But often they never intend to pay for it in the first place.
Thats why exposures doesnt equal revenue, if piracy truly boosted sales- artist wouldnt fight it. Yet many artist oppose piracy, because it undermines their income. Especially for artist that rely on direct sales
Lack of legal access isnt an excuse for theft. You have to admit piracy isnt activism but an exploitation.
Also its not right to say his critism of piracy "classist" when what he does is defending labor rights. Most artist arent wealthy yknow even when their successful they still lose income to piracy.
