It's so weird how they try to make excuse for the old attorney and the family ? Like "he have nothing against women", "he is a kind man who help the poor".
That's factually not true ? He was vindicative and downright mysoginistic with preconceptions against her ? He wasn't professional either ?
Her family might have their reason ? Yeah but they could have down everything in so many other way ? Like just tell her "we need to protect ourselves for now let's send you away for a time while we search a solution and Find evidences ?" Like they just say "you are not our daughter anymore go fuck yourself."
And like the poor woman said she did it because she was forced ? She wasn't ? She had the choice she took the job. I understand that she was underprivileged but also if you kill someone to have a better life it also make you a killer ? You can't trample on someone else to have a better life and hope to not suffer the consequences.
Like they are making excuses for a lot of people and accuses her of being privileged not doing enough and all that. It's just so weird to me how they minimise all their fault.in this.

Yup sweety, they trying to exuse them with these things...but sadly, this is why this story is so realistic.
the attorney is upright disgusting for me...he faller Luce for 1st meeting, but he was mysoginistic, he denied his own fellengs, and verbally-mentally abused Luce throught 5 years, he didn't give a s**t when Luce said she is innocent, he didn't even thought at the option of Luce beeing innocent.
Her family could at last say out the thing, loke we struggline, we cannot handle you beeing here, because of the impact of the scandal, we going zo try to clear up the things, but we need time,..at last Luce would know that they sent her out and don't think she is abandoned...but in this way this was one more push for her and her bad mental healt. And yup they made excuse with this.
The prostitute statment is ridiculous...she knowed that something is wrong, but she didn't give a s**t for it and do it anyway, then when she was catched, she said, she deserve this peace because she worked hard for it?! Nope sweety, she didn't deserve the peace, nor the money, nor anything, what she earned with ruining an innocent person.
Sadly in real life things go smiliar.....those who are on fault always find a way to minimalize their own guilt and the punishment what they deserve.....

Obviously she love herself she is so loved and confident like she didn't need to say it.
She felt superior to Ruby since the start. Like I'm not surprised she is running away for her life honestly I don't blame her for that but the fact that her supposed "bestie that is like a sister" is running in the other direction and she doesn't care is kinda funny. She was just a duck rider.

I know Ian went through a lot but the disrespect is getting annoying.
Our FL went through a lot too maybe it's different but she did her best and like I really don't like how all those men treat her.
Sometimes I feel so mean because I'm way less forgiving for male characters like.
Maybe it's the misandry

That man was fed a trauma buffet, but he had every chance to have a good relationship with a caring wife, and squandered it. It takes two to build and maintain a relationship, and he refused to engage. It was kind of predictable, but his “redemption” is really just him avoiding a lot of the stressors that he responded poorly to in the first life. He hasn’t become a better or more stable person, he just avoided the trauma of losing his family. This is pretty common for male redemption arcs.
In his first life he was controlling, neglectful, and emotionally toxic because he had a poor attitude towards relationships and did not manage his trauma well. Those latent traits haven’t changed. It’s just that now he has a support system and his relationship with Madelyn is developing more naturally.

And that's why it's a decently realistic portrayal of someone with ptsd. This is the reality when dating/pursuing a person with trauma. And yes, I've noticed a lot of readers, esp female readers, tend to be alot for unforgiving towards male characters and wouldn't necessarily bat an eye if a female character does the same. I suppose you could also call that a form of trauma
There is litteraly no situation of any this being her fault.
And the punishment she got was way out of line she is a traumatized 11 years old. The "brother" is insane. He just broke the things holding her sanity up. And I hope he suffer some kind of consequences.
And Y'all wishing her to suffer in the comments here are insane.
