So basically Osiris had been the successor but he was so obsessed with Seth to the point the power went to Horus but because horus looked in the Mirror and became obsessed with Seth the power is basically just walking on Air.. still slightly connected to Horus because he's not yet a complete God.
My understanding is that the successor power lies dormant on horus and will be activated once he becomes full god. But once he's a full god and he still is deeply in love with seth, he will lose that sun god powers and it will go try find a new impartial god who can inherit that role. I can smell the angts coming the moment horus becomes god, loses his memory and feelings, and seth will either have a chase arc or he will fight round 2 with horus
