I got up to like chapter nine and was bored because it was just going in circles, bunch of nothing going on, so I skipped to the latest chapter (40 as of writing) to see if it changes and its a complete tonal 180 like ok ok they are in special forces or whatever but damn I'll read the gap lol

I mean I think so, but at the end of the first season you will hate Dante for something he does, no cheating or anything. But he makes up for it right at the start of season 2 and after becomes more open and honest about his feelings

I had to stop reading a few pages after Alex's intro. Story was already on thin ice, then that just made me give up on it entirely.
A lot of yaoi fall into that sort of cycle of petty drama for dramas sake where they deal with one insecurity or misunderstanding after another, but this story takes the cake.
Nobody learns anything, everyone is awful, and the only thing this story gave me was a sense of regret for the hour I wasted waiting for it to get better, which, judging from the other comments, seems like it never does anyway.

It started off ok but everything became a jumbled mess during and after the warehouse, the author is probably as confused as we are with the direction of this story. Normally I like crazy, but they are really just trying too hard with the ML.
