My mind just got raped.
"And then he woke up and it was all a dream..." Didn't they say using this cliche was a bad idea? Lol.
I mean I get it but at the same time, y'all really put me through all that mind-fucking just to tell me they were in virtual reality and once he woke up explain everything in exact detail regarding their actual relationship and what led them there, rendering whatever tf happened in the virtual reality pretty pointless.
I think this story could've started during the flashback when they were young, supplementing additional details if needed, and going from there till the end, would've worked just fine. All the virtual reality mind-fucking seem so unnecessary when you look at the grand scheme of things. I feel like you can get rid of the virtual stuff and the story would still be the same?
Based on the virtual stuff, I thought this story would be different. But it's just another basic obsessed possessed love story where two individuals struggle to come to terms with their feelings and where they stand with each other.
The VR torture is part of the psychological thriller aspect. When you read it the first time it’s hard to understand what is happening and why but after you learn it’s what Law has made to try and break and punish Jesse. Law is a seriously unwell person obsessed with Jesse burning with what he thinks is Jesse’s rejection but was actually Jesse’s attempt to protect him and help him. I also feel the beginning is messy but it definitely gives you the feelings Jesse must have felt when trapped inside and hi lights how unwell and vindictive Law is and how obsessed. He spent all this time making this device to re hash his trauma instead of just…going to therapy
Not sure if it's because of the fan tranlations or maybe I read too fast, but can someone confirm with me my thoughts?
1. The amplification device makes the core possessor more attached to the caller? If without it, the core possessor can become unattached?? If so, then does that mean Sak and Lima aren't "officially" caller and core possessor???????? (By officially I meant they were meant to be bounded w/o amplification like Hana and Nana)
2. Continuing, Sak seems to be unable to sense Lima's thoughts after the amplification device was destroyed. Was the hearing and feeling the thoughts of your caller an actual symptom of caller and core possessor bounding or just a byproduct of the amplication device?
3. Callers arent bounded to one core possessor? They can have many? Hana explained Lima has a natural ability to pull core possessors into protecting him, explaining why Echo chose to die in order to save Lima. Is he like an 'ultimate' caller??? Or are all callers like that in general?
4. Looks like Sak's ability burns infected (or people I guess) on a large scale as well, just like Hana who does large scale damage. So I wonder what makes him "different"? If the goal is JUST to kill the infected, rather than "cure" them, then anyone with a core that can impact large scale will do and it doesn't have to be Sak, right??? (And I understand they said the whole spiel about how his core only affects infected, but I'm saying if the goal is to just kill infected, then that renders his core the same as everyone else and someone like Hana could've done it as easily too)
I think for 4. its mostly because he is the only one who can really sense if someone is infected or not and therefore eliminate them before they show symptoms whereas someone like hana would have to wait until they have “turned”. Right?? Plus he can just use his powers in a setting where there are infected and healthy people all at once and only the infected would die. Hana would just kill everyone with no filter or shed have to collect all the imfected people first and seperate them from others
As for the others im really not sure but my thoughts rn would be 1. I think their bond is extraordinarily strong, especially with saks core changing for lima and everything but i also think it wasn’t really explained that much why that is
2. i guess maybe he can still understand limas thoughts better than others but the amplifier just made their connection even stronger?? Idk tho
And 3. As far as i understood all callers are like that but what i didnt understand was whether core users can also have more than one caller?? Because hana was telling lima something like “you arent even that special to him” right?
Sigh I keep coming back to this. It's just such a good read.
Like. From Dohyung's persistence and endurance, to Jaegyung's stubbornness and denial. All of it.
I loved it when Dohyung went "I didn't expect it to happen so soon. I could've waited longer" like??? Bruh you crazy lol just the fact that he actually anticipated playing this game of chase until Jaegyung tire himself out is insane. In a good way tho lol I'm not saying he's bad. He IS down bad but not toxic bad, ya know.
I also understand Jaegyung why he kept denying it, even after the reveal that they're not bros. The mental strain for him to know he loved Dh despite them being bros, to him knowing he CAN love Dh now that they arent related. That's just a lot to process and especially if he'd already set his mind on not ever getting together.
Cant really blame him for continuing to push Dh away.
But that's also a good thing in its own way. Because we know Dh doesn't take no for an answer and will continue to patiently wait lolol
If hyoun had to copy the shape of the child, does that mean he has to copy a new human for every new body? Like who was the man he copied in order to look like the current adult hyoun? Just a rando perhaps? (Or maybe he doesnt copy and has learned to "age")
But let's say if he did copy a human....does he copy the human dracock too or does he supplement that with his imagination
Because if the original human that hyoun copied already had that size then....he surely is not human either.
Yeah but HOW did he make them disappear? I refuse to believe he can just "wish" it and it automatically happens. He must've done something in his sleep...
Edit. If y'all don't know how his powers work aside from "he's a dragon" please don't reply lol
I mean if y'all are content with "he's a dragon" then you do you but I got questions. There are plotholes and I wanna speculate. Not tryna just be spoonfed here.
No shit sherlock we know he's a dragon. I'm talking about the technicality of his powers. How exactly does it work and its limitations. He clearly is not omnipotent that he can just "wish" for anything to happen. If so, why bother with Taehyuk's death? Just wish him to be alive again. Why bother with reincarnation? Just wish Taehyuk immortality. Even in current time, why bother with being sick? Just wish to not be sick. Or when Taehyuk ran, just wish for him to not want to leave. You get it?
Which is why I'm wondering HOW he wished the village to just disappear and if there is something he actually physically did, rather than just "wishing" into existence.
maybe you should look up how dragons are depicted in korean legends to get a glimpse of what his powers could be and how they used them in those stories. in case u weren’t aware of it before, since readers who would have info on it probably understand this version of a dragon better (i.e. korean people that grew up hearing/reading about it). there’s no tone/attitude in this, in case it sounds like it
just a heads up b4 reading this, to answer ur question there is no explanation of his power yet so no, no reader knows it’s true strength so it’s all been up to assumption. the author hasn’t gotten to it yet, which seems pretty intentional for why he wasn’t able to bring the og taehyuk back to life.
however things we know so far: he is an omniscient being, who wasn’t told the limits of his power or how to use it since the master who was supposed to teach him about it, himself, and basically all the knowledge about dragons/their origins died. it may feel like plot holes, but the author is going to explain those things in the current arc (hopefully). besides showing their backgrounds in this season, the major question we will see get answered is “how could an all powerful being not even save their one true love, and lost to either a human or another all powerful being?” so the slow pacing and mystery behind explaining hyowoon’s power was purposeful for making us more interested in why taehyuk died/how was hyo not able to save him; it wasn’t done to leave readers confused and frustrated at the lack of info
atm all we know about the power in connection to the present/past is:
- “present” dragon is weakened and can only use his powers in moments of strong weakness/desperation
- which is another theme we see in “past” dragon, where he was betrayed and almost killed
- he can’t make people appear in front of him, but he can cause them to disappear if he truly wished for it
sorry that this is long but if u read it all thanks :)

WHY'S HE SO EMBARRASSING LMAOO
