I'm gonna have to agree with @ItsJustMe up in the comments above that this is gonna surpass Solo Leveling, subjectively of course. There's definitely more depth and development going on and the story is more complex than simply powering up and fighting monsters through brute force. Side characters also get a chance to shine and be part of the journey. Now I know comparing them is pointless since both stories have their own narrative but for people looking for these game system webtoons, this will definitely be the next thing to read after Solo Leveling (or vice versa, whichever you started with first)
I agree, both is wonderfull novel and have different and opposite own story, like in solo leveling just focus to the mc and excited combat scenario meanwhile orv focus on each character develompent and reasonible scenario to make each character more stronger, in short solo leveling more in greed and overpower mc and orv more in cooperation each character
And yeah absolutely amazing novel, you all must read, i hard recomended it
I'm on ch 287 right now and i'm seeing a lot of repetition.
1. The other guys who aren't as strong gets involved with the enemies, can't win the fight, then Frankenstein shows up to save the day. When he's expended his energy, either already defeated an enemy or is having trouble, Rai will then step in last minute and finish the job. The fight scenes are epic but it's the same formula for every fight so it gets predictable. Regardless of how the fights start, it always Frankenstein then Rai.
2. The kids are used as bait. All the time. I like that Rai and the rest are favoring these normal humans and forming friendships but at the same time, they're a hindrance and I wonder how easier life would have been if they'd never got friendly with anyone.
You're saying No to my second point, right? If so, then thanks for explaining. The point I was saying there though, was that the kids are being used as bait all the time and it's getting repetitive. The part about me saying i wonder how easier life would be is just my frustration with the repeated abductions. I know they're very clearly playing a crucial part in Rai's return.
ngl even though i expected the rape, it still upset me when it happened. Ian the type of person you don't want any harm going his way. so fucking glad that mf died. i wished we found out what happened to the son and wife as well. but it's very likely they're living miserably so ig that's a happy end for them.
imo Raymond wasn't the good guy at the beginning. like he said his goal just changed. if he didn't love Ian, he would have continued to treat Ian like an item. so i'm not gonna come out here and act like he's some godsend to save Ian. he wasn't. Ian basically fell from one shit hole to another.
But love happened. I do think Raymond is a different person at the end though. like he said he is still selfish and possessive, but he isn't involved in dangerous things anymore. his purpose is different now and it's for the better.
Ian deserved all the good things in life, glad it's happy end for him.
The story itself about raymond's political standing was more complex than i thought, although also not so complex that you lose interest. is just a good mix of that and the development of their relationship to be intriguing. we had a lot of support characters but similarly, we didn't go too deep into their backgrounds too so it's a good balance.

Spoiler? idk
I get everything except Jun's love for pain and choking and how Yeonwoo knows that. As kids Jun was the crazy one. He thought of hurting Yeonwoo's parents in order to protect them. So how does this transition from him having thoughts of inflicting pain on others to him having thoughts of inflicting pain on himself?
They repeat that he was never scared of anything when he was a kid so is this current version of him, who enjoys a little pain on himself, the result of that kid? Too unafraid of anything that he wants to become scared of something, is that it? That's what I'm drawing since it wasn't that clear to me when I was reading. But even then, how does Yeonwoo know this and to lead Jun down the path to admit he likes it that way? They just met recently and the person he knew was a 5 year old kid from ages ago. Did the Demons tell him? lol Or don't tell me 5 year old Jun enjoyed......pain on himself too.....
