Im a bl fan and he is not (honestly it kinda like free without the abs), it about the love of skateboarding, friendship, some angst (but what do you except, its a sports manga), and wholesome shit. Anyway like most sports the prime focus is the love and passion toward the sport unless highlight otherwise.

It could be platonic love or romantic love. Its all base on how look at it and as long as your not threating anyone with your opinion (it has happen to me). Either way, its a good sports manga and anime.

langa definitely loves reki, but whether it's romantic is rlly just up to interpretation. to be fair, it is a sports anime- there's not meant to be a romantic subplot at all, so the relationship is always ambiguous in terms of categorization.
i forgot which episode when it happened but at one point langas mother asks him if he likes the person hes talking abt (using the romantic sort of 'like' in japanese
and theyre talking about reki) and langa blushes and says 'Yeah.' So it's either he really does love him or there was some sort of mistake on langa's part. The only logical explanation is that langa is not too familiar with japanese so he might've gotten it wrong but idk if bones thought of that..
