Embodying feminine traits not only devalues a man in society’s eyes (because the traits themselves are devalued), but it also threatens men who rely on masculinity to see a man expressing feminine traits and still existing as a man (partially because they don’t understand why a man would want to have feminine traits, which makes him seem foreign and unrelatable, while also challenging the gender binary of society which many people rely on for their sense of self, especially men for whom it benefits). This is typically why men get more hate for being feminine than women get for being masculine."
