before anyone says byul isn't a product of grape, please know that being in heat/rut is equivalent to a person being drunk. heat/rut induced people cant consent the same way drunk people cant consent! dominant/recessive gender factors are also in play in that situation and dojin as a dominant alpha had all the power to refuse a recessive omega (hyesung). it also doesnt help that recessives have a difficult time refusing all pheromones especially from dominant types.
not to mention, their first intimate encounter was sexual assault bc hyesung didnt consent to having someone else's fingers up his ass. dojin can avoid other omegas in heat just fine all his life but he couldnt refuse hyesung's recessive pheromones? they may be fated, sure if you'd like to use that as an excuse why dojin couldnt stop himself, but that man was fully conscious every time hyesung approached him in heat. he also KNEW hyesung hated every single time they had sex to the point he was beyond repulsed in the morning so why would he indulge an omega in heat again? to take advantage of him. that's rape.

i know i've already shared my piece but make no mistake NONE of this is byul's fault! he's a kid who overheard things he wasn't told about and his natural curiosity to know his maternal family probably got him to contact his grandma. it doesnt help that he found out this mfking tool of a man named dojin was still in contact with said grandmother. they have lapses as parents as they didnt explain the situation to byul at all but sometimes its better not to mention it to a kid at a young age. so yeah definitely 100% it's dojin's fault again this time.
jeez even in the sequel hyesung cant catch a break? literally started getting teary eyed because though he isnt my favorite character, he didnt deserve what happened to him with his parents, misdiagnosing as an alpha, meeting dojin the way he did and literally getting baby trapped, but STILL he chose to grow from them, owned up to his mistakes and loved byul wholeheartedly.
now, this fuckass dojin who should've been the very person to understand WHY exactly hyesung is in no contact with his parents. he's SEEN how hyesung reacted when his parents came back for him only when they find out he found himself a rich alpha, dojin knew that his parents never looked and cared for him even once when hyesung was struggling from abuse and poverty. how out of touch could he fucking be to go behind his beloved's back to contact the very people who abandoned him?
hyesung was struggling financially when they met, he was working when they met, the reason hyesung asked for compensation money for his pregnancy was bc he grew up broke and sought the comfort of the rich life. im not making excuses for hyesung's past decisions but these decisions were ultimately the result of the abandonment his parents had done to him.
hyesung's trauma was relevant to the original story and now the author's using it to make byul and his romantic interest progress ??? ik we havnt seen how byul would react yet but i hope the author doesnt mess this up for hyesung again and byul shouldnt be happy about that unconsented kiss too. and fuck dojin honestly.

this was genuinely a good read 100/10. praying for side stories
