When I saw the first chapter, I was like "finally, a happy ending" but then I realized that he took the boy's soul (eyes were empty and dead at the end). I should've known with how the manga has been going lol. Everything is more so bittersweet. Like it's happy... in a twisted sense. I think it was unnecessary for the Doctor aka the Kappa, to even take his soul since he was going to love him anyway.
