From the spoiler i know, idk if its the truth or not but she is really the duke's daughter. The duke did something that make him doesnt remember both his lover and his daughter. I think its for their safety? Idk, if you want more you can read from spoiler forum
She is the duke's daughter. So from what the spoiler stated, in the 1st timeline, the Duke was searching everywhere to find her. I don't remember why the mom left while pregnant, but I think it had something to do with the emperor?
Anyway, when he found her again, she already died in the fire. The Duke felt so sad and guilty that he couldn't save his daughter just like his lover so he turn back time. The sword that's with the Duke has that power, but at a cost. He used up all of his power to turn back time, and in return he lost his memories about his lover and his daughter.
That's why he doesn't know that she's his daughter, and also why the sword doesn't speak to him anymore. After reversing time, the sword became exhausted and couldn't speak.
This was how the 2nd timeline came to be.
Oh that's some kind of complicated thing again just like wmmap (╥﹏╥) but in a different way of forgetting a love one this time.
