About the slow schedule, so far they cut a lot from Mendoza arc. There should have been a scene where Ines and her waiting lady Juana have girl talk about Carcel and we learn how much Ines has changed through her waiting lady.

No, the ml is I would say *a psycho and controlling, and obsessive. But I would justify him cuz of how he grow up. Maybe he's bad but I think he just want to be loved genuinely by someone but he choose the extreme ways, that's how he learned from his father.

In the early chapters, mc and the other guy was a thing in the past. But then mc hate the ex cuz he assaulted him. That's where the ml came into mc life becoming such a savior with his dirty things behind mc's back so that mc became dependent with the ml. Mc is a pushover in some of his friends eyes. that's why for ml who didn't experience a normal life growing up, it's better just become an outcast and only live like ml wants than surrounded by people who didn't appreciate how he is and think well about him.
That's how I picture it.
