He actually wore the ring just because he didn't want girls to hit on him. Since he was probably gay and in love with myeong so it would be too weird and suspicious to keep on rejecting girls with no reason. So yeah, he wore the ring to seem taken and just waited to meet with myeong again, and when he did and they did "it" and he knew it was mutual, he put it on myeong's finger to show that myeong was now his and that he was myeong's and that he never belonged to anyone else from the start. That's it.
