After carefully reading it I think I understand it..Maybe...
I think it's a side story about Yoshino. The main story would be of Hikaru nd the caretaker..

Yeah, I think that’s the premise, though it seems a bit more complicated than that. The seme lost all sense of safety in an unhappy, unsafe place - the uke was his only sense of family. Seems like the uke denying that he knew the seme during a period of heavy abuse broke what little hope/internal safety the seme had left.

Ikr. It needs explanation story.
Why the uke forgot everything?
Is it related to how he grew up with his foster mother and her son's act towards him?
Everything is bothering me at this poiny.
