This is going to sound fucked up, but I can't entirely hate the MC for cheating in this situation bc I feel like this is something that could have happened to me while I was dating my first ex-boyfriend. I never cheated and I loathe the idea of it, but back then I was so fucking insecure and truly hated myself, just like the MC, so reading it happening didn't feel so far-fetched to me. Tbh I still have a some mental problems but reading the MC's mindset reminded me so much of the me in the past.
