simply put, the mistress doesn't freaking die yet because of insufficient evidence but loses her title as a noble. then that mistress suggests (blackmails) lord ephreny to adopt her so she could get a noble title. (￣ε(#￣)Σ

Basically Later on the emperor would make a case to investigate because both party was saying different things and the result is "insufficient evidence" so that rose b!tch got away and only her tittle of baroness is stripped and she wasn't thrown out of the palace instead she's still living there but what makes me mad is she's knows she's not gonna die and while she's in jail she's casually enjoying tea and she's okay with her tittle stripped because she thinks that once she becomes queen that tittle is nothing so she's not scared or anything (this is from the novel)

ok so riftan finds out about the abuse that Maxi has been going through at the Dukes place, so he plans to go to war with them after everything that they did to her. But the problem is is that the Duke has all the nobels backing him up and Riftna only has his men adn thats it. Also at the same time Maxi finds out that she has the potential to be one of the greatest mages/wizards in a long time, so she wants to protect Riftan and thier land aswell so she decides that she watns to go to the tower (where mages lean and train) but inorder to be a mage, it normally takes 3-4 years so theyll be a part for a long time again and they had only been togeter for ~8 months, so they get into an argumen and misunderstandings happen and both feel like each other is betraying the other, but really they want to protect each other. Also the reason why Riftan is in so in love with her is also explained. So pretty much when he was a stable boy, he saw her reading under the oak tree (so thats wehre the title comes from) and he fell in love with her and was determined to raise in rank so that one day he could marry her and give her a good life that she deserves :) thats wehre the first book ends off but apparently the author is sick so its unsure when the second book will start
