LBR, to depict a character’s curse relating to dark skin is offensive to people of color (￣皿￣), and it’s not popular to point that out b/c nobody wants to think subtle racism is mixed into the world of fantasy. It makes it seems as though people with melanin in their skin is less than attractive and have grossly exaggerated features in many of these stories, regardless of how you defend this particular story!
