I liked Touma as a kid and felt super bad for him and that's all I could focus on...
But when I reread this years later, I found that overall he's a pretty flat character. Yes he's sweet and I *still* felt bad for him, but he wasn't written with much depth and didnt really develop either.
Kou definitely made this story, and idgaf if he didn't end up with Futaba in the end. I just loved watching him change and develop. He was easily the most interesting part of Ao Haru Ride and I relate with how Futaba said she wanted to be there with him every step along the way as he grows as a person, yknow? Also lowkey supporting the anime catboy agenda now cause of him lmaoo

Remember the flashback of what happened after Haesoo got into a fight with those asshats in high school? He was so stressed out about the situation, thinking of what to text Joowon. Meanwhile Taku (who's a stranger at that time), was in a car passing by with his mom. Haesoo and Taku's eyes met briefly before Taku was told to close the car window. In that scene, all Haesoo was thinking and worrying about was related to Joowon, and he stopped only for a second to meet Taku's eyes.
I love that scene now because I realize it was a complete analogy of their relationships: of how Haesoo is so fixated on Joowon and everything they've been through, and Taku is someone who catches Haesoo's eye/interest, but is only passing by in the midst of his troubled emotions.

naw I don't really get how some ppl can claim Taku should be with Haesoo cause he treats him "better"? like are you even READING the same story as me???
Joowon actually grew as a character and *let Haesoo go* cause he wanted Haesoo to be happy (even tho he still very much loved him obviously). When Haesoo came to -him- rather than the other way around, he admitted he was in the wrong and was being selfish and cowardly with his feelings, and decided to be honest. He let the media trash his name just to protect Haesoo. He learned to love Haesoo selflessly.
Meanwhile, Taku till the very most recent raws, has been very self-centered with his love. From the start he said "I'll love you in my own selfish way" to Haesoo, and he HAS NOT changed from that. He knows Haesoo is unhappy and hurting. He literally said he knew Haesoo was so sad when he took those pictures, but he wanted to see more. And he knows how much Haesoo cares about Joowon.... yet this dude still yells at his friend for letting Haesoo run to Joowon after the accident?? He cares so much more about his own feelings and keeping Haesoo for himself, than for Haesoo's happiness. And I'm not saying he's so horrible that he can't change or grow in the future or whatever. Honestly for this being the first time he's ever actually loved someone, it makes sense for him to act out like this... however the way he is currently, that's not a relationship to cheer for.
So like pls kindly explain how Joowon is the bad guy here, and how Taku apparently "treats Haesoo better". Like EXPLAIN? CAUSE ITS BEEN THE OPPOSITE FOR SO MANY CHAPTERS NOW???

Taku stans really be testing me today. The author literally said Joowon and Haesoo are NOT siblings. They met in highschool, became step-siblings for literally TWO YEARS. they were never raised together as kids, and when they met they never acted like siblings. And then their parents divorced. SO NO. It's not incest. It's nowhere fvcking close. when their parents ARENT EVEN MARRIED!!! forget their non-existent familial bond, EVEN BY LAW THEY ARENT "SIBLINGS"!
now if you want to go argue with the author that you somehow understand their story better than themselves be my guest ╮( ̄▽ ̄)╭

hey, i honestly regret even replying to them. don't reply to them anymore and give them more attention!!
i think theyre just trolling at this point. i saw them in another comment crying about how ppl make assumptions about them. and here they reply nonsense shit like "i guess you also fuck your siblings and cousins".
