I think you can hold romantic love for someone and it not be sexual. I don’t think those two things are one. In a sense his love is like he said I don’t want you to ever leave my sight. I think that was the extent of it when Subaru was a child then when he got older obviously they had to adjust to his new grown up appearance and then the sexual attraction grew.
