I understand he is busy with state affairs but if he was willing to sacrifice his life to save her, he should’ve put more effort from the start no matter how exhausting it is. He returned her anxieties with no reassurance whatsoever, only disdain. Surely as the emperor he can cast aside the toxic mother, as he did when he lost his memory. He always torments the FL instead of acting to gain her trust and love; there’s no redeemable quality left in him. He’s just disgusting, a rapist and a psychopath. The painting of him getting beheaded made me believe this would be an empowering manhwa where the FL would get the revenge she deserves. But the spoilers made me think this would end up like those trashy manhwas where the FL suddenly loses her backbone at the end of the story. He doesn’t deserve peace. I do love the painter girl, wished it went to that route.
Not mad at anyone at all. Their feelings are valid. The girl literally does not know the guy, he’s unstable and he used to try to kill her. It’s normal to be cautious. And the guy is under the impression that they are a married couple, and he’s already infatuated with her. It’s understandable to feel disappointed and mad when you’ve basically been turned down
