The replies to this convinced me partially so
- Dad was wrong to treat a child, from the streets, poorly after taking her in.
- Servants are high on smth cos they really did put their nasty heads down the gutter treating a kid like that.
- Prev life family were retards you didn't deserve her and treated her like trash with idiotic reasoning
- Every guy in this webtoon (in her current life) is 'wow' and a tsun (ain't nothing wrong with that)
I don't think people realize smth, the previous villainess, was a...villainess. There is a reason she was hated, the assassination attempts she planned and the things she did in general aren't smth people can brush off.
I can tell her father and brothers actually care for her and in the most recent update it seems she will finally realize it too.
The CURRENT owner of the body, is not a psycho, murderer, envy-driven maniac. The trauma she went through in her previous life is what I would call unfair and disgusting. But again I'm the type who won't make assumption on characters when CLEARLY there's smth deeper.
People are saying that in the novel she's treated badly but from what I can see here (in the manga). All of "this life's" problems arose from A) unknown factors (we as the readers have yet to know) and B) the original villainess's behavior and actions.
These so-called 'bastards' everyone is hating on, seem to actually care for her anything they do is solely based on her previous villainous behavior.
IF THIS ENDS UP MAKING HER WHOLE FAMILY SEEM LIKE VILLAIN'S THEN IMA DROP COS WERE THIS IS HEADING (PLOT) AND THE CHARACTERIZATION I SEE AT PLAY ALL POINTS TOWARDS THEM BEING GOOD GUYS.
I made my judgement based on what I've seen so far in the manga so idgac about the novel (since I'm not bothered reading it x not my style of novel).
Yeah I agree, cuz her brothers just seem kinda tsun, I feel the same bout her previous life too, but then again I’m unsure as it’s yet to be revealed.
But like the things she did, wasn’t it because of the way they treated her? I mean of course it’s not an excuse for the assassination attempts and stuff but like isn’t the reason she became who she was because of them who hated her and did so many wrong things to her in their childhood? She probably felt the way she did bc she also longed for the same love when she was little. Not saying the family was terrible but I’m saying they’re not great （￣へ￣）
Yvonne is the real villain. She used magic to make people hate Penelope in the original timeline and got her killed. The duke and her 'brothers' ARE assholes. Derrick treated her like trash to hide his romantic feelings for her. Reynold is just an immature asshole. The same with her real family in korea. They purposely let her starve so she would go eat dinner and spend time with them, but instead she just stopped eating and kept getting gastritis and that's how she ended up with stomach cancer and basically dying.

1. She was a child and a beggar. “Those who have starved once will do anything to not starve again” of course she didn’t want the real Yvonne to come back.
2. I can kinda maybe give the brothers a pass because they were also children but fuck all the servants in the house. Grown ass adults picking on a child. Bathing her in cold water. Giving her rotten food (that is if they gave her food at all). They didn’t even know about what Penelope wished for and yet they still treated her like shit.
3. Bum ass father picking up some random child as a replacement and then neglecting her. At least in “beware of the brothers” they show how messed up the parents were (especially the mom) to take in a child as a replacement for their other child. But the duke has no excuse. Fuck him the most since he was the one who could have easily fixed things.
4. SHE WOULD HAVE NEVER ACTED LIKE THIS IF THEY HAD SHOWN HER LOVE FROM THE START. ALL OF THE THINGS SHE WAS DOING ARE CLEARLY JUST TRICKS SHE DID TO GET THEIR ATTENTION. THE NOVEL AND THE WEBTOON HAS STATED THIS MANY TIMES.

Hmm I'm no too clear myself since I just some some spoilers before. But the ml is the crown Prince. Towards the end, there's a scene where mc knows she's actually in the game. N she can see (mybe) what's happening irl,her og body got hospitalised bc of cancer (mybe in coma) n her 'family' worrying/sad abt her. Mc can choose either to stay or go back to rl but yeaa she choose to stay. So her og body died I think. Mybe not accurate tho (▰˘◡˘▰)
