Since he didn't bring it up, and since the FL is naive/ has no sexual experience, she would be embarrassed to act clingy by putting a label on an experience that might have been just a one-time thing. The rumors were just a point of reference for her, so that she would act accordingly. In the second chapter, she clearly defined her boundaries. If the ML respects her or has some genuine feelings for her, he would clear up the misunderstanding and talk to her.
