they have a reason, its just not one that's explained yet.
they kill the undead, its what they do. its what there order was made to do. and the mc is the most threatening kind of undead there is.
I get its their job to kill monsters, but if they were truly acting as good then they would kill him painlessly and quickly, especially knowing he retains human memories and is capable of fear and everything. Seems to me that they want an excuse to torture others, sounds like they're monsters under the guise of good
there zealots and there part of the branch that hunt just the undead. hes one of the more dangerous kinds of undead. and yes they should have just killed him right there.
he has a better chance with fighting the sun then them.
That last scene reminded me of Shingo and Keiichi's chase scene in the first story!!

Like, Yuzuki is trying to stay with him and has to deal with all this sh*t while not knowing what's going on, but Riku seems to have just given up right after he visited Yuzuki's parents and said he'll stay with him. I know that we don't have all the details yet, but what Riku is doing is horrible. RELATIONSHIPS REQUIRE COMMUNICATION.
