Maybe I should clarify my reasoning a bit more since I think my original post did a poor job of it. I'm not bothered by the fact he got beaten (because he did do shitty things), but its that the mom beat the older brother because he beat the MC, who was just revealed to be blood related. I was bothered because it was such a drastic change in attitude from the framing incident. Both times MC was wronged, but because the framing was done by the fake, he basically got a slap on the wrist with his credit card being taken away. She didnt beat the shit out of him even though he couldve ruined someone's reputation. But this time, the brother got beaten badly for punching the MC, which is still wrong, but arguably less bad than permanently staining his reputation in the social sphere. This difference is attitude is because 1. She didnt know MC was her lost child and 2. Fake was a replacement for MC. The mom is just playing favorites, and that's what I find unfair about the situation. Basically, she, and the whole family for that matter, are unusually and disturbingly obsessed with the lost child. I just felt like if MC wasnt found out to be the lost child, she wouldn't react the same way. It would probably be another settlement/compensation offer.

I just feel so bad for the priest. He was already traumatized by his past and now this? He doesn't deserve this at all. I have a feeling that they're all in on it though. That dinner table scene told me everything. Plus the prince and the other priest were talking about muscle relaxants so at the very least, either one or both of them are involved. I really hope the priest gets a happy ending, but I guess I'll be torturing myself emotionally with this one.
