I don't think that's a good response to criticism. People have the right to criticize a story, to say "shut up or go make your own story" is a pretty toxic mindset.

I agree. Not everyone can right stories, however, the consumers of that media deserve the right to critizise the work. Just because I can't paint, doesn't mean that what I say about a painting(good or bad) isn't valid. It all depends on the evidence seen by or displayed to the consumer. As another example, just because I can't grow apples doesn't mean I can't say that I don't enjoy the one I'm eating. In the end, its all about opinions. People have the right the criticize the fact that the couple wasn't seke because the author teased at that a lot of the time. Plus, most yaois have a tendency to stick to ukes and semes even when there are a lot of people who do both and aren't like your run of the mill heterosexual couple with predetermined roles. It's not a male and female relationship so why does all of them have to be treated as such. Not that it's bad to have a preference as a gay man, but I'd just like to see less teasing and more doing.

Beautifully put! I don't think I could say it much better myself. I'm a pan guy whos a switch and was really getting excited thinking this couple would resemble more like my own relationships, only to be a cheap joke by the author. I'm not too hurt by it but it definitely wasn't a great outcome for me.
