I think it's interesting so far, but the MC's motivation is kinda weak. I feel like I'd understand his obsession more if it was his family member who died rather than just a disciple since he doesn't seem to have any strong attachment to the disciples that are still alive. It's also progressing very quickly. I'm sure more Big Bads will unfold when we know what his disciple was researching or whatever, but the MC's motives for doing all this feel very flimsy.
