I think the reason why I dont like Jeannette is because her way of thinking is very naive and ignorant. I mean I know that she's a sheltered girl but her ignorance is up to the point that it makes her look insensitive to others feelings.
I really felt bad about her wanting to be loved by her 'family' but she needs to think of other ways you know, I mean she must know that her visiting her 'father' then going back and thinks that Athy will not be hurt of her actions is the most ignorant thing that she could do.

I ain't really disagreeing with you on that her naiveness and ignorance can be extremely annoying, but i feel as if some people dislike her due to her just being the initial main character, like in stories like this the intial main character is depicted as manipulative to get their way, but her intentions seem to not have any force or hatred behind them and she is just purely unaware of how her actions have consequences, possibly due to her sheltered childhood as you said.
However at times she can be truly caring, and i don't really want her be too hated for just being the first main character, because i know that if the roles were reversed, and Jennette was again the main character, then ya'll would be taking her side more, as it is only natural to root for the main character.(Sorry for the length, my life just feels empty now that i've finished reading all the available chapters

Its kinda unfair for Jeannete if you see her as like that. She might be quite sheltered, but as the last pages of chapter 65, even if she is friendly and a good daughter, she is still not seen as a proper family, I guess it is her experience in the household she is in that she longed for a family.
She isnt scheaming, she just cant tell the Emperor that she knows where Athy is because it might inflict her family as traitors and She does answer properly when Athy asks about her Father.
Also, she is summoned by the Emperor and not her going to the Palace as she pleases.
Additionally, I guess you guys forgot that the Emperor in this novel is seen as a Tyrant that will even ķill his babies without blinking, what more on the people that he might hate.
Jeannete is walking on thin ice here.
Why are they not wearing socks....
Bc they're hipsters
Invisible socks (not magical ones, the ones that are not visible when the shoe is on)
