Situation wise it's went downhill, plot wise it's getting towards the climax and reaching the point where things will start to resolve itself (imo at least). It's toxic, manipulative, rape and imprisonment (not a spoiler, it was shown in the very first chapters).
If u want, read like 2 or 3 of the recentish chapters and see how you fare.
I don't regret starting reading this manhwa. Started at s1. Is it getting better? Same as all manhwas plot lol, it's a mess, but I have read worst, so far its ok. The art is really pretty though.

Yeah, probably more like brothers rather than father and son. It just the way gay ppl getting married
since they cant get married, its a workaround so they have legal rights as family members. for example, in the us during the aids crisis, gay men were refused the right to see their dying partners since they weren't married/family. also, family means a lot to both of them
