He realizes his faults yet is not doing shit about it and we are already on ch 24. I hope he changes.
People can't change the way they are especially if they committed suicide for that exact reason.
The reason they committed suicide (esp mc) is because he couldn't change for the better and he couldn't advance in life no matter how much he wanted to.
If it was so easy to change our faults wouldn’t we all do it? I watched grown men respond to fear by freezing or pissing themselves despite all the training for the situation. You don’t have control of your fear response. It’s a fight, flight, freeze response that works to keep us alive most of the time, but trauma can create maladaptive responses and cause our bodies to reprogram themselves and misread the situations. That MC is directly confronting his fear despite this is already a form of bravery. Many people choose to ignore their shortcomings. Growth is hard under the best of circumstances, let alone what the people in the story are experiencing.
Anyway, that’s my take on it. However, I see where you’re coming from as well. Just wanted to give a different perspective.
