I’m pretty sure she was just trying to humiliate princess Edith because she’s technically a royal and her reasons for everything was “for the emperor’s sake” she would probably just get a slap on the wrist at most for her punishment if not nothing at all plus it seems like most of the nobles (at least the ones around them) seem to like her more than Alicia due to her familial background and power ╮(￣▽￣)╭
If she had let Edith get full punishment while Edith had the backing of all nobility, her situation would have gone from bad to worse. At least with this, she comes off as benevolent, gracious and forgiving while at the same time, putting Edith in her place. She definitely gained much needed brownie points from that.

im not really sure but let me try to explain. so it was initially the sword clan and heavenly dragon assoc who were fighting. and then joined in by the crazy people group. and now in the last chapter, the people who came sweeping in seems to be the administrator people, meaning, the salmu assoc. im not really sure yet why they are joining the fight tho.

Sword clan and heavenly dragon assoc were fighting because they thought the other side had declared war but it turned out that the Demon God and his people were the ones wrecking havoc.
The demon God people joined the fight to kill both sides.
The Samul Assoc had a plan of using the Demon God ppl like this but decided to kill the Demon God ppl because they cause to much harm to innocent ppl.
